yoko Honda was born on June 8th, 1984, in Japan. She started learning music at 2, as her parents found that she has got natural perfect pitch.

 

She has studied various music genres internationally, from Classical music, Jazz, Traditional / Ethno music, Latin music to Pop music, Electronic music, Dance music and more - after studying basic theory and performance skills as a keyboardist and vocalist in Japan, she moved to the UK at 19 where she enrolled at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) in England, and studied advanced music performance skills, sound technology, composition, and songwriting.

 

While she was studying at LIPA, yoko had got interested in music creation and arrangement more and more, and decided to pursue her career as a composer, arranger and music director.

 

Later on, she moved to the US and enrolled at University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), and got certificated in MFA Film / Media Music Composition.

 

In 2007, yoko was nominated for a big songwriting competition: 'Inspire! UK Audition' by British Council & EMI music as one of the finalists, and her song 'Timeless' resulted in No.1 Downloaded music. In 2009, her instrumental piece 'Phantasmagoria' has been selected for an exciting annual art project "60x60 2009 International Mix" from New York, and in 2011, another piece of yoko's 'Bubble' has been selected for a unique biennial event 'The Athena Festival' as one of the 60 composers from all over the world.

 

She has also experienced countless concerts, musical and recording sessions as a performer.

 

Now yoko creates her music for multiple media and for the artists with her original sound as a composer/ arranger, songwriter, Music designer/ producer and more.
